Chemical Distribution Room Renovation in Zibo

Project Location
Zibo, Shandong, China
Completion Date

Project Scale
1000A system
Project Duration

This renovation project addressed the power distribution room of a chemical facility in Zibo, Shandong. The owner's original design specified a 5×240 mm² multi-splice cable configuration, but the cable bridge location was severely space-constrained and the construction passage was narrow. The multi-splice cables were large in diameter and heavy, making handling and installation extremely difficult within the limited bridge width. Yanghua proposed a 1000A double-splice flexible busbar solution. The flexible busbar's compact cross-section and high single-cable current-carrying capacity enabled a drastic reduction in the number of parallel conductors required. This freed up critical space within the bridge for proper heat dissipation, simplified installation logistics, and ensured reliable long-term operation in the chemically aggressive environment.

Project Background & Challenges

The distribution room's cable bridge was severely space-constrained with narrow construction access. The original 5×240 mm² multi-splice cables were excessively large and heavy for the limited bridge width, causing installation difficulty and inadequate spacing for proper heat dissipation between parallel conductors.

  • Severely limited cable bridge width unable to accommodate bulky 5×240 mm² multi-splice cable bundles
  • Narrow construction passage making heavy multi-splice cable handling and installation extremely difficult
  • Insufficient spacing between parallel cables causing inadequate heat dissipation and potential derating
  • High total weight of multi-conductor bundles increasing structural load on cable support systems

Solution

Yanghua deployed a 1000A double-splice flexible busbar solution that drastically reduced the number of parallel conductors. The compact single-cable profile provided sufficient clearance for heat dissipation within the narrow bridge while simplifying handling and installation.

  • Replaced 5×240 mm² multi-splice cables with a 1000A double-splice flexible busbar configuration
  • Compact single-cable profile freed bridge space and ensured adequate ventilation for thermal management
  • Lightweight flexible busbar construction enabled easier manual handling in narrow installation passages
  • Reduced total conductor cross-section requirements while maintaining full 1000A rated capacity
