Shenzhen Distribution Room Transformer Expansion and Reconstruction

Project Scale
1600A system
Project Duration

This project involved expanding the capacity of a distribution room transformer in Shenzhen, Guangdong, from 315KVA to 800KVA. The original rigid bus duct connecting the transformer to the low-voltage cabinet was removed due to incompatibility with the new equipment layout and the extremely constrained construction space. With a compressed project timeline, the owner selected Yanghua's 1600A universal-type flexible busbar. Unlike the original bus duct, the flexible busbar required minimal effort for installation — a single continuous run replaced the entire rigid connection. The product's lighter weight, smaller dimensions, and superior flexibility enabled rapid on-site routing and connection, dramatically shortening the construction period and reducing total project cost compared to custom-fabricated rigid bus duct alternatives.

Project Background & Challenges

The 315KVA to 800KVA transformer capacity expansion required replacement of the existing bus duct in an extremely confined construction space. The tight project schedule demanded a solution that could be installed quickly without pre-fabrication lead time, while maintaining full 1600A current-carrying capacity.

  • Extremely confined distribution room space leaving minimal clearance for equipment installation and conductor routing
  • Standard rigid bus duct requiring precise pre-fabrication measurements and extended manufacturing lead time
  • Compressed project schedule demanding same-day transformer replacement and power restoration
  • Need to maintain full 1600A current capacity within a dramatically smaller conductor cross-section

Solution

Yanghua supplied a 1600A universal-type flexible busbar that replaced the original rigid bus duct with a single continuous run. The product's lightweight, compact design and inherent flexibility enabled fast on-site routing and connection without requiring advance measurements or custom fabrication.

  • Deployed 1600A universal-type flexible busbar as a direct replacement for the removed rigid bus duct
  • Single continuous run eliminated all intermediate joints and the need for pre-fabricated custom sections
  • Lightweight and compact design enabled easy manual handling and rapid routing in confined spaces
  • On-site cut-to-length capability eliminated measurement-dependent lead times and accelerated installation
