In this data center computer room expansion project, Yanghua flexible busbars were deployed to connect low-voltage cabinets to row head cabinets, PDU switches, and precision air conditioners. A single busbar run was capable of meeting the full current carrying requirements without the need for stacking multiple cables, significantly reducing space consumption. The busbars were directly bent through narrow cabinet sections, saving substantial operations and maintenance clearance. With IP68-rated ingress protection, the solution provided reliable moisture resistance within the computer room environment. Long-distance runs were achieved without intermediate joints, eliminating potential failure points and reducing long-term maintenance risks.

Project Background & Challenges

The data center required a power capacity expansion within a confined computer room environment, where traditional cable solutions would occupy excessive space, create numerous connection points prone to failure, and lack sufficient moisture protection for the sensitive equipment environment.

  • Extremely limited installation space within narrow cabinet rows and equipment aisles, making conventional cable racking impractical
  • Long-distance power distribution runs requiring multiple joints in traditional cable setups, increasing potential failure points
  • The computer room environment demanded high moisture resistance to protect sensitive IT and cooling infrastructure
  • Need to maintain accessibility for ongoing operations and maintenance without cable-related space constraints

Solution

Yanghua deployed IP68-rated flexible busbars in single runs from low-voltage cabinets to PDUs and precision air conditioning units, eliminating intermediate joints, enabling direct bending in narrow cabinet spaces, and providing comprehensive moisture protection for the data center environment.

  • Single-run flexible busbar installation eliminated the need for intermediate joints across long-distance power distribution paths
  • IP68-rated ingress protection ensured complete resistance to moisture and humidity within the data center environment
  • Direct on-site bending capability allowed the busbar to navigate narrow cabinet spaces without special tooling or prefabricated bends
  • Compact form factor saved significant operations and maintenance space compared to multi-cable stacking configurations
